Trees are vital to life for many reasons: Trees clean our air, produce the oxygen we
breathe, store carbon to improve our climate, prevent erosion, and provide fruit and nuts.
They add beauty and shade to streets and homes. In our forests and woodlands, they
provide food and shelter for wildlife.
Class objectives:
- Guidance for cultivating trees in Amador County, notably microclimates
- Information for selecting, planting, and maintaining fruit, nut, and citrus trees
- Advice and tips on selecting and caring for landscape trees
- Information on caring for our native trees (conifers, oaks, and more)
