Hi YGPBC Burners! We are planning a pile burn for Saturday, January 24th, on Kemble Road. Please complete the registration form below if you are planning to attend. Exact location will be sent to registered participants.
Where: Kemble Road, Mariposa
When: Saturday, Jan 24th
Plan to be at the site at 9:30AM for briefing. We expect to be wrapping up around 3:00, but this is dependent on burn operations. If you are planning to come, please plan to attend for the full day. If you are bringing an additional person (including kids) please include them in the registration below.
Please come prepared for the day by:
- Wearing natural fiber clothing, such as leather boots (not steel toes!), hat (not straw!), jeans, and long-sleeve cotton or nonsynthetic shirts. We will have Nomex (fire-resistant) clothing available for all who are interested, in addition to hard hats, eye protection, and leather gloves.
- Bringing food and a way to carry water. We will have snacks available and the landowner will provide lunch, but you may work up an appetite and should carry food with you. A backpack will be helpful as we will not have scheduled breaks and everyone is expected to take breaks as needed.
- Bringing any tools or equipment that you think would be useful for accomplishing the objectives of the burn. For this burn, long-handled pitchforks, hoes, and shovels will be useful.
