Dehydrating/Freeze Drying- The Basics

Dehydrating is a great way to preserve your harvest. Dehydrate vegetables, fruits, and herbs to use throughout the year. We will discuss the principles of dehydrating, show you what to look for when buying a dehydrator, and show you how to use it. You will also learn how to use a freeze dryer, why freeze drying is a good method for preserving, and share ideas for preserving foods at home.

When: Saturday, April 19, from 9am to 12pm (Check-in begins at 8:45 am; class starts promptly at 9:00.)

Fee: $5 (payable at the door by cash/check payable to UC Regents)

Location: Amador County GSA Building, 12200-B Airport Road, Jackson
