Sonoma County 4-H Camp Staffer Application 2025
DUE DATE: Everything must be completed by Febuary 24, 2025.
Staffer Application Important Dates
- Registration Night is on January 27, 2025. You and a parent or guardian must attend. If you have a conflict due to work or school or other 4-H activities, you must call your camp coordinator to have a conversation about your situation, before the meeting. Text and email and phone messages are not acceptable in this case. The phone numbers for your coordinators are in the email.
Staff Camp Meeting Dates
- STAFF MEETING SCHEDULE: January-June.
Meetings are on the fourth Monday of each month, from 6pm-8pm. January 27th, February 24th, March 24th, April 28th, & May 26th (June 23rd-Camp 2 if needed)
- STAFF MEETING LOCATION: YAL Center, 6445 Commerce Blvd, Rohnert Park
Staff Training Weekend
- Camp 1 April 11-13 at Camp Tamarancho
- Camp 2 May 16-18 at Mendocino Woodlands
Camp Dates:
- Camp 1 June 23 - June 28
- Camp 2 July 6 - July 11
To be on CAMP STAFF you must:
- Be an 8th grade graduate by June 2025.
- Have attended 4-H Camp at least once.
- Attend monthly Camp Planning Meetings.
- Attend the Staff Training event.
- Attend the entire Camp session.
- You may only attend 1 camp session
To be a CAMP DIRECTOR you must:
- Meet all requirements for CAMP STAFF.
- Be 16 years old by June 1, 2025.
- Director applicants will participate in an individual interview.
Fees:
- Camp payment for staffers will be $280.00
- +$63.00-4-H Enrollment Fee for youth ONLY enrolled in the Sonoma 4-H Camp Unit (and not enrolled in another 4-H Community Club) Must have this to attend the camp planning meetings.
FEE COVERS:
- $63.00 fee covers the leadership training portion (project part) of the program. This is the fee charged by the state to join 4-H. If you are already enrolled in 4-H for the year you don't have to pay this again.
- $280.00 fee covers:
- Staff training weekend
- One week of summer camp
Staff Application Instructions
- Complete 4-H Enrollment at ZSuite (which means enrolling your youth in Sonoma 4-H Camp Units/member; add project, select staffer-Camp 1 or Camp 2; Teen Project Leader) and making payment for that 4-H enrollment ($63.00) check made out to Sonoma County 4-H Camp.
- Online Staff Application below (including a head shot photo attached).
Camp 1 will be held at Camp Tamarancho Boy Scout Camp, central Marin County, Fairfax CA. Located in the heart of beautiful Marin County, this scenic year-round camp property is located just two miles uphill from Sir Francis Drake Blvd outside Fairfax village. Camp Tamarancho has over 412 acres of grassy meadows, oak- and madrone-covered knolls, and redwood-forest canyons along Fairfax Ridge with amazing views of the North Bay stretching from Mt. Camp 2 will be held at The Mendocino Woodlands. Located within traditional Pomo territory near the village site Bu’ldam, Mendocino Woodlands National Historic Landmark State Park is a year-round group camping facility and environmental education center nestled in the heart of the Redwood Forest, just Northeast of the town of Mendocino.
