Discover the vibrant world of Mediterranean herbs that can thrive in Ventura County's climate. This class continues our Garden to Table Series and explores herbs like rosemary, oregano, thyme, sage, and basil which are the backbone of Mediterranean cuisine, and touch on a few other local favorites. We’ll cover practical tips for growing these aromatic plants in your garden or containers, variety selection, watering needs, pest management, how to maintain a productive herb garden year-round with seasonal care tailored to our local growing conditions.
Our Master Gardener, Terry Garman, will share techniques for harvesting, drying, and preserving your herbs to capture their peak flavors, along with creative ways to incorporate them into your cooking. Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, you'll gain the knowledge to cultivate your own Mediterranean herb garden and bring authentic flavors to your kitchen.
