Elkus Ranch School Field Trip Request (PS-TK)

Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten Field Trip page - To be read by PS & TK teachers before submitting answers to the registration questions below.

Environmental Education Field Trips at Elkus Ranch offer our youngest visitors an engaging, hands-on experience with nature, animals, and plants. During their visit, children will explore our historic barns and use all five senses as they interact with the ranch environment.

Animal Encounters: Children will have the chance to brush or pet our friendly goats and donkeys, plus say "hi" to our chickens, cats and bunnies.
Barn Exploration:

In the upper barn, children will see our horses, feed our flock of sheep, and feel the soft texture of their wool.
In the lower barn they will examine our animal bone collection and learn the differences between domestic animals at the ranch and the wild animals that share our surroundings.

Garden Adventure: The garden offers a fun scavenger hunt, where children will identify colors, leaves, edible plants, and insects. They'll even get to taste something freshly grown and harvested from our garden.

This enriching field trip allows children to connect with nature, animals, and the outdoors, fostering curiosity and hands-on learning.

Preschool and Transitional Kindergarten Field Trip (PS-TK FT) tours run from 9:30am-11:30am

$10 per student and chaperones, school staff are free.
Up to three classes can participate in a field trip at the same time.
Classes can arrive as early as 9am for students to have bio-breaks and start their snack prior to the tour.

An Elkus staff member will follow up to confirm your date and other details within 2 weeks of your request submission. Once details are confirmed, Elkus will send an invoice up to 4 weeks before the field trip unless otherwise requested.
