Workshop on the Biology and Identification of Phytoseiid Predatory Mites in Agriculture

 

This course will teach students about the importance of predatory mites in agricultural crops and the basics of how to identify them to species level.  Each student will have their own phase contrast microscope and access to a set of slide-mounted specimens to work through “The Key to Genera of Phytoseiidae Found on Crop Plants in California”. 

When: 11 September 2024, 8:00 AM- 4:30 PM

Where: UC Kearney Research and Extension Center, 9240 Riverbend Ave., Parlier, CA 93648.  

Workshop Fees: $100 (covers the cost of renting phase contrast scope, slide mounting supplies, lunch and snacks) 
Make the check payable to "UC Regents" or cash payment with a memo "Predatory Mite Workshop" and mail it to. Receipt of the workshop fees will reserve you a spot.
