Marin County 4-H Camp Rules & Code of Conduct

1. Be polite and considerate of all the participants at camp. No pushing, tripping or hitting. No throwing rocks, food, or any other items.
2. Harassment and bullying of any kind is never permitted. The use of racial, sexual, or religious slurs are prohibited.
3. Displays of affection between participants are prohibited.
4. Respect the authority of adults and teen staff.
5. Respect the facility and the property of other campers. Respect and protect wildlife.
6. No firecrackers, fireworks, slingshots, guns, knives, or weapons of any kind are allowed at Camp. No tactical flashlights with sharp edges.
7. Cell phones, tablets, game devices, or electronic devices of any kind are not allowed. Any such devices will be taken from campers and held securely until the end of camp. Preserve our camp atmosphere – do not bring alarm clocks, hair dryers, curling irons, food, drinks, radios, MP3 Players, headphones, or electronic games.
8. Respect the camp schedule. Be on time, and always stay with the tribe or program to which you are assigned.
9. Practice safety: walk (do not run), stay on trails and approved areas. Closed toe shoes are required at all times. “Flip flops” allowed in the shower only.
10. Campers may only leave camp only with the permission of the adult Camp Supervisor and with two adult chaperones or their parent.
11. Hikers require permission from a supervisor; campers must sign out/in, and must be accompanied by two adults. 
12. The possession or use of alcoholic beverages, tobacco or nicotine products (including e-cigarettes), and drugs (other than prescription medication) is prohibited. Note: This will result in immediate dismissal.
13. Campers remain in their assigned sleeping areas at night.
14. No boys in girl’s sleeping area, and no girls in boy’s sleeping area at any time.
15. Per 4-H policy, section 819, the person and property of all 4-H Youth Development Program (YDP) participants (both youth and adult) are subject to search during the course of 4-H YDP events if deemed necessary by 4-H YDP appointed volunteers and/or staff.

The penalty for infraction of these rules may result in any or all of the following:

1. Confiscation of inappropriate materials.
2. Parents will be called.
3. Disaffiliated from the Marin County 4-H Youth Program.
4. Consequences as deemed appropriate by the Camp Review Committee.
