Ca Master Beekeeper Program - Orange County Hub present: Exploration of Beekeeping
Certified CAMBP instructors will offer an introduction class learning the basics about beekeeping and strategies to successfully raise your honey bees in Southern CA.
Each workshop will focus on a specific season using techniques and skills that you will be able to use in your own hives.
Topics Include:
Checking overwinter colonies Managing for honey production
Swarming & robbing prevention Checking for diseases & queen health
Preparing a split to requeen Feeding Techniques
Completing a hive inspection Strategies to requeen
Mite test load & control Honey extraction technique
If you are interested in keeping honey bees but not sure how to begin this class is for you. After taking this course participants will be able to make a well informed decision about keeping bees in their backyard.
Each class is limited to the first (10) registrants (some age restrictions may apply).
All registrants are required to bring their own personal protective gear - closed toe boots, bee suit/veil/hat, and gloves - none will be provided for use on site.
