2023 Placer County 4-H Summer Camp Staff Application

 

Staff Camp Dates: Sunday, July 23 - Sunday, July 30, 2023

WE ARE LOOKING FOR 4-H SUMMER CAMP YOUTH STAFF WHO-

  • Are currently enrolled or willing to enroll in the 4-H program.
  • Have the willingness to discover, learn, and grow throughout their experiences with the Placer County 4-H Summer Camp Program.
  • Are willing to embody activities and behaviors that are associated with positive role models for campers.
  • Take experiences as learning opportunities and teachable moments.
  • Have the willingness to listen, learn, and be considerate of others.
  • Willing to be a part of a community built upon trust, caring attitudes, and enthusiasm.
  • Are able to work in a youth-adult partnership.
  • Are patient and kind.
  • Will continually respect the institutions, patrons, people, and mission of the camp.
  • Will contribute to the positive culture of the camp.
  • Want to have AWESOME FUN this summer!
  • Do not just work at camp…we want staff to LOVE to work at camp!!

Job Descriptions

 

Junior Counselor (JC)

JC's work more closely with campers. They are responsible for leading activities and games for up to 16 campers; with the help of an Adult Counselor. Junior Counselors are responsible for monitoring youth on sleeping deck along with an Adult Counselor.

 

Junior Director

Junior Directors must be at least 17 years old. Junior directors are responsible for leading the team of youth counselors, planning and conducting the training retreat, and serve as support for their junior counselors. They provide a second line of discipline for campers. Two are selected for the camp year.
