Las Flores Learning Garden January 28, 2023 - Garden Ergonomics: Using the Right Tool the Right Way

 

Join UC Master Gardeners of Napa County for an in-person workshop.

Saturday, January 28, 2022   10:00 am - 12:00 pm at 4300 Linda Vista Avenue, Napa.

January Topic: Garden Ergonomics: “Using the Right Tool the Right Way.”

We will provide home gardeners with information about proper body mechanics and ergonomic tools they can use while working in their garden. Attendees will learn how to avoid common gardening habits or activities that are potential Risk Factors for ergonomic injuries. The goal of the class is to help home gardeners effectively pick the right tool and then use that garden tool correctly to minimize mechanical injury to themselves.

Our presenter, UC Master Gardener Bob Niklewicz is a physical therapist with 50 years of patient care experience. He has a Doctorate in Health Science and is a certified ergonomist with over 30 years of teaching experience. He was a clinical professor at UCSF and Director of Education for the Back School of Atlanta. He is currently the CEO of the Ergonomic consulting company, “Ergocation LLC.” _______________________________________________________

Though we will be indoors, we encourage attendees to dress warmly and be prepared for some outdoor activities, weather permitting.

The UC Master Gardeners will be offering monthly educational events on various horticultural topics on the last Saturday of each month (Jan - Oct) at the Las Flores Learning Garden, 4300 Linda Vista Avenue, Napa.
