    Join UC Cooperative Extension for a practical, in-person training focused on improving nitrogen management in row crops. The agenda and speakers are the same for both events, so choose the location that works best for you! This event is free.

    8:30 AM – Sign-in
    9:00 AM – Nitrogen overview (cycling in soil, crop uptake)
    9:15 AM – Nitrogen sources & application considerations
    10:00 AM – Crop nitrogen budgeting & in-season monitoring
    10:30–10:45 AM – Break
    10:45 AM – Nitrogen & irrigation management
    11:00 AM – Soil sampling for nitrogen management
    11:45 AM – Small grains example (N-rich strips & tools)
    12:15 PM – Adjourn & lunch provided

     This workshop will cover:

    • Fertilizer sources and calculations
    • Soil and organic matter nitrogen contributions
    • Irrigation and leaching considerations
    • Practical tools for in-season N management

Registration preferred (for lunch count), but not required.
