This is a two-day workshop that covers the basics of prescribed fire planning, implementation, and operations. The first day is in a classroom, where we go over important foundational skills; the second day is a burn day where participants get to take their classroom skills into the field!
Classroom Day:
Where: Ahwahnee (exact location will be released to registered participants)
When: Saturday 11/15 from 9:00AM - 3:00PM
The classroom day will take place rain or shine.
Burn Day:
Where: Ahwahnee (exact location will be released to registered participants)
When: Sunday 11/16 from 9:00 - 4:00
The burn day may be rescheduled if weather is not favorable.
There is a suggested donation of $10.00 per participant for this event.
You do not need to attend both the classroom day and the burn day. However, I highly encourage folks to attend both, in order to solidify new classroom concepts into muscle memory. This course is targeted for beginners, but experienced fire practitioners will still learn new material as well.
