2023-2024 County Ambassador Application

2023-2024 County Ambassador Application - Due May 30, 2023

4-H County Ambassadors serve in the highest 4-H leadership role in Nevada County 4-H. The 4-H County Ambassador position not only recognizes a member's leadership abilities, but it is also a working honor. County Ambassadors are role models for their fellow 4-H members and their community.

A County Ambassador is the representative and champion of the 4-H program in the county. While no two County Ambassador programs are identical, they follow the same guidelines, provide similar opportunities and have the same learning goals.

All County Ambassadors are highly encouraged to attend and participate in the 4-H State Leadership Conference, 4-H Area Summits, as well as serve on state-wide committees and participate in other activities or events beyond the county level. These experiences help expand leadership skills and are beneficial for those wishing to go on to become State Ambassadors.

The County Ambassador Handbook is available HERE.

2023-2024 Nevada 4-H Ambassadors

Annual Plan of Action

County Ambassadors develop an annual Plan of Action that includes choosing and developing three leadership competencies and completing one service-learning project. County Ambassadors choose from six leadership competencies:

Advise, Advocate, Mentor, Plan, Promote, Teach

Responsibilities

If I am selected as a 4-H County Ambassador, I will have many obligations to fulfill, including the following:

  • Serve as a positive role model; be receptive to new ideas and challenges and promote 4-H, setting a good example for younger members
  • Represent 4-H to outside organizations when called upon
  • View the County Ambassador rank, not as an award, but as a new responsibility and learning experience
