Sonoma County 4-H Camper Application 2022

Sonoma County 4-H Summer Camp provides an outdoor setting for group living where young people gain a deeper understanding of their relationships to their fellow human and the natural environment. The core of the Sonoma County 4-H camp education program is to empower young people to share as partners in decision making, camp planning and implementation, and camp leadership on a day-to-day basis. Campers take part in all the classic summer camp activities- hiking, arts and crafts, skits and songs around the campfire. Camp is run by teens, called "staffers," who start meeting in the fall to organize all the aspects of camp- everything from the food to the themes for the events.  There is one teen staffer to every five youth (called campers).  There are, of course, adult chaperones there as well (one for every ten campers) and a nurse on staff.

We are at a new location this year.  Our camp will be held at Hopland Research and Extension Center located at 4050 University Rd, Hopland, CA 95449.  For more information on the site please look at their web site https://hrec.ucanr.edu/

Given the new location and different accommodations we will need your child to bring a cot for them to sleep on.

We will have cell service at the new location but we are not allowing the kids to have cell phones.  We do understand that communication with your child and knowing how they are doing are very important, So we will be utilizing an app to provide parents with pictures and videos of all the fun activities happening daily at camp. The app will also allow you to write letters or send emails to your camper that we can deliver to them during mail call.
