CONSIDER PARTS, COLOR, and SHAPE of plant/lawn. Area affected: flower, stem, leaves, branches, trunk, old or new growth, one-side only of plant, damage to turf. Is there yellowing, leaf discoloration, leaf spots, rotting, or distorted shape? Is there a known disease or previous damage?

CONSIDER LIGHT the plant or lawn receives. Full Sun with direct light, mostly sunny, mostly shady, full shade, or inside light? How many hours of light per day?

CONSIDER INSECTS: Found on the plant/lawn? Found on other plants of same type? Found on different types of plants? Found in which area of property? Type of damage found? Known diagnosed infestation? Has this happened before?

CONSIDER WATER: Do you Hand Water? Do you use Drip or Spray Irrigation? Have you checked your irrigation system hoses or connectors lately? How often do you water? How do you determine if your plant is receiving enough water?

CONSIDER SOIL and DRAINAGE: Is your soil Clay, Sand, Loam, or Potting Soil? Has soil been tested for nutrients? Have amendments like compost or manure been added? Have fertilizers or pesticides been used? Is water being retained in soil, or draining quickly or slowly?

CONSIDER PLANT LOCATION: Are plants or trees in a Container, a Raised Bed or planted in the Ground? Is the ground level, on a hillside, in a low spot or planted in a lawn? Is the soil compacted? Is there nearby hardscape? Have there been recent site modifications or utilities work?

CONSIDER CLIMATE: Temperatures higher or lower than normal? More or less Rain than normal? Wind, hail, or other weather event?
